Wow!!

This really reminds me of Fable music dude! The piano, violin plucks, and other orchestral percussion sounds absolutely amazing here.

This piece instantly transports me to a mid-evil forest, It's sunny and bright outside and you begin to push through a forest... suddenly the light starts to dim, and I approach the darkest scariest part of the woods; things start to get tense. My eyes dart left to right, and I place my hand on my sword... Only to realize that I've let my surroundings get the best of me. I push forward, and things return to normal as the thick brush gradually clears.

This is a beautiful piece of artwork my friend, I wouldn't change a thing!

WizMystery responds:

There's no piano violin or orchestral percussion in here, are you sure you reviewed the right song?

Thanks nonetheless :P

Very nice work!

The intro for this track is very relaxing!
I really enjoyed your piano work, and the lead that comes in @ 27 sounds great!
I love the way this track slowly pieces itself together, and the drum break really impressed me! The drum samples used here sound great, and the pattern used is really pro sounding! That drop though... fcking incredible; loved the way you blended everything here. Also loved the gradual slow down effect for the outro, Very nice touch!

One big issue I have with this song is the bass sample at the drop, It almost sounds like it has an fl slayer layered in with it or something; I love the effects you ran the bass through, but the bass itself... it just needs something more (it's just too damn muddy the way it is) :(

Overall;
Amazing work though dude!

~Dj Sonik (xsakux)

KroweMusic responds:

Welllllll I made the bass myself. Slayer wasn't used. I agree it's a bit muddy, but I'm too lazy to change it.

Glad ya liked it, though :)

Really Chill!

Right off the bat I love the drum and piano work! This song kinda reminds me of a multi-player stage for an old video game. The Ambient break at 1:08 sounds beautiful, I love how smoothly you transitioned into the ambiance. The soft pads, and airy synth sounds also breathe a new kind of life into the break as well... great work!

Things to improve on:
- The bass in this track didn't really rock my world; as a good Drum & BASS track should.
- The drum patterns are great, but the drum samples themselves sound slightly dry/ un-layered.
- I would have loved to hear some unique percs or fx in the background.

This track is great, but with a little work it could be amazing!

Kieda responds:

I am more a drum & melody creator than drum & bass xP Anyway, I'll focus more on bass next time (:

FX and percs.... hmm... For some reason I just kinda didn't... kinda... I forgot them...

Anyway, thanks for the review!

Powerful synths!

I really enjoyed this piece dude, very well written!
The melodies in this are very powerful, and really bring this song to life.
The automation used here are also pretty impressive!
The break at 2:27 is probably my favorite part :p Well done.

I do however, hear a couple things that could use some work x.x.
- The lead melody repeats a lot in this song; mix it up a little bit
- Some of the drum samples in this sound way too fake x.x; add some re-verb and eq those up a bit
- The bass like follows the lead melody way too often
- A lot of the samples you chose sound pretty raw x.x

This song is pretty great, but it definitely needs some work!

Chill as fuuuuuuUUUU!

This is really great dude, but totally not a misc song!

This track sounds more like an Ambient/ Downtempo masterpiece waiting to happen!

I love the soft instrumentation, leads, bells, and the drums you used here sound amazing! The bass emerges from the silence perfectly, and when everything comes together; pure amazing!

The only thing I can really recommend with this song...
Add some soft, crisp, and ultimately clear sounding leads after the break; Sax/ trumpet/ Violin with some nice clean reverb and delay... dude this song could be so beast!

Anyway, as it stands I still give this a ten because it just has so much damn potential!

Very Impressive!

Frazmaster responds:

I do plan on extending it with some leads and vocals to break the repetition. Thanks for the review!

Awesome work!

This is really impressive, I was really surprised to hear the variety of voices that you were able to pull off! A lot of the voices used here seriously remind me of saturday morning cartoons!

The voices you used were very full of life, emotion, and heart; It sounds like you're pretty experienced in the voice acting field. I loved how memorable the voices were as well, some of them really took me back! :D

I don't normally review voice actors, but this reel is seriously top-notch.

Amazing work my friend!

Rabidssquirrel responds:

Awesome! I'm super glad to hear it! Would be wonderful to actually score a role on a saturday morning cartoon one of these days!

I'm glad I was able to trigger some childhood memories <3

Hopefully I'll be able to create some of those childhood memories in the future. :)

Thanks!

This is sick

I love the old skool feel to your drum kit, and the overall quality of everything is brilliant in this track! You really seem to have a great handle on your hip-hop production skill.

If i could add anything to this though:
- Vocals could really make this track pop!
- Mellow Instrumentation with some added delay effect could do this piece some good. (Flute, Piano, or Rhodes piano would be tight)

This is quite an amazing down-tempo/ hip-hop jam that you've put together here; I can't wait to hear your next one!

FunnyCop responds:

Thanks, I'm not a very good singer :P When I finish the extended version, I might add some of the other mentioned stuff.

Chill track :p

I really like the ambiance you've created here. The samples at the beginning of this sound really great, and the clarity is really nice as well!

One big thing to focus on here is your actual drum samples, and bass presence.
The drum pattern you have written here is okay, and the breakbeat sounding glitches are really cool, but I don't think they quite match up to the clarity of your leads.

The lead instruments in this track are amazing, and quite relaxing as well.
I would really love to hear an edit of this with a more distinctive bassline, and better drums :(. This track seems to have so much potential for drum and bass, but you really have to keep those two thing in mind my friend :).
I'm pretty damn confident you'll get it though, this is close to being a damn good track.

Greatt effort! (I hope you make another one :p)

Pretty interesting take on dub :p

I really enjoyed the instrumentation here, and the cleanliness of the samples was definitely a massive plus. The drum kit you've chosen sounds very nice, and almost marching-band-ish.

This song itself is wonderfully composed, but in no way do I even closely relate this to Dubstep (Acid included, or not). This sounds like it would fit into a video game or flash movie pretty easily though! This song is very different, but I don't think that makes it bad at all :P.

Great work buddy!

Rampant responds:

Thanks - the strings are LA Scoring Strings and the drums are a one-two punch combo of EastWest's Symphonic Orchestra (one of the snares patches) and Native Instruments' Abbey Road 60's Drums.

This was my first foray into electronic elements, so I'm not really surprised if it doesn't sound much like dubstep, but I do hope that a flash author will find a use for it somehow in one of his or her movies or games.

Thanks for the review,
- James

An Ambient Masterpiece

I love the way you organized this track!

I. Signs of Life (0:00 - 1:36)
Mellow, and really clean sounding; I love the ambiance you've created here.
The crushed drum kit is a great touch, and I really enjoyed the light drum samples coated with heavy delay. Everything here sounds incredibly solid, and I really enjoyed the clarity of this whole section; very professional sounding work bro.
II. Excitement (1:36 - 2:24)
Everything continues to sound very crisp, while gaining a new energy.
This break is nice, and seems to give you glimpse of what's to come.
The leads, drums, and strings all sound very nice here; very chill :)
the transition approaches, and the dynamics fall back incredibly well.
I really love how flowy the transitions are from part to part.
III. Preparations (2:24 - 4:48)
Everything seems to fall back, and your left in suspense for a good minute (not in a bad way). I loved the way the subtle strings arose from the ambiance, and again dynamically begin to climb. The string samples in this are absolutely brilliant! The drums also still sound very nice. :p
IV. The Great Cruise (4:48 - 6:36)
This part is wonderfully described by it's title; once the drums drop away, you're almost swept away by the mixture of ambient sounds. Incredible
V. We Come In Peace (6:36 - 10:48)
Interesting break away you've taken here; this song is anything but predictable.
This ending soundscape reminded me a lot of something that you would hear on a Mars Volta album between tracks; Wow dude... just amazing :,D
Probably one of the best ambient tracks to ever hit this portal.

Overall; Incredible
