Going nowhere

This song makes me think of a person standing in the desert with nothing but sand as far as the eye can see. Confused, this traveler tries to figure out how he's ended up here; lost and alone he longs for things far away. He misses home, and after much thought... finally pushes forward.

This song obviously leaves a lot of room for imagination to take over (very spacey, and open sounding). In fact, this almost seems like more of a soundscape than a song.

I like what you've made here, but you could have done a lot more to make this a little more unique.

Great Effort!

Yes, I am aware it is pretty dull, more "soundscape" sounding. I wanted to add backing instruments with a different melody but I never could find something that sounded nice. Either way, thanks for the review.

It probably wont sound similar...

But I really don't think it needs to; By itself, I think this is a tremendous piece of musical artwork.

The piano samples sound absolutely amazing, and the melody is superb.
The mastering sounds great, and the reverberation sounds very natural (very nice & clear). Most of all, the melody sounds very beautiful and almost mysterious :O.

The melody in this sounds like it could make a hell of a strong contribution to this film. but then that's just me talking haha, and I'm sure that you can come up with something just as great if not better than this for your project.

Keep the great work bud! I cannot wait to hear your next submission!

Thanks for the kind review XsakuX/DJ Sonik!

I like it as a piece on it's own too. contemporary dancers and this particular film maker tend to want ambient pieces so this is way too melodic for what they're using it for. I've got to suit their needs at the end of the day as crap as that is sometimes. the dance doesn't have any meter either so I've got to compose around the dancers movements. I'm glad I have a solid base to work from. Thanks dude!

Cool song dude!

This sounds like it could fit right into a platformer Video Game bro!
It actually reminds me of something that you would hear in A Spyro, Sly Cooper, or Ratchet & Clank game to be more specific.

I Like the drums, guitar work, leads, and effects in this piece (minus the pitchy phasing during the intro). The rhythm is nice; Driving, but not too pushy. I really have to say that the composition of this piece sounds very professional, even though some things could have been mastered better.

Overall though; I really love this dude (Very reminiscent of many of my favorite VG soundtracks, but all at once)

Thanks, dude!
I actually did have a couple video game inspirations (the synth strings was an idea from a rave-like song from DX Ball 2, for example). I'm gonna need to look up some of the songs from Spyro and Sly; haven't seen those games for years
I tried to avoid over-pushing on this one, and it seems to have worked. You're right about the mastering though; I was mainly going for some bass boom when I did the drums, mainly listened on a large stereo system while working on it.
Glad you enjoyed! :D

Okay this is fckin hardcore

I loved the driving beats, and the way just about everything sounds in this mix.
This thing seriously sounds like it could fit right into a bonkers compilation with Scott Brown.

The Likes:
- The intro is awesome
- Drums sound great
- Although things are very distorted, you managed to keep a nice hardcore feel
- The composition of this track flows very nicely, and you could probably slip it right into a hardcore set

Dislikes
- That vocal sampling sounds terrible x.x (way too distorted, and hurt my ears pretty bad for a good 30 seconds)
- The bass in this is good, but slightly muddy sounding

Overall; HARDCORE

Cool song :p

The intro was cool, and I liked the way you automated everything.
The build following was good, but the highs echo a little to much at bled over into the change up @ 1:01 (things just sound a little crowed). I loved the vocal break in this song, and how you used the vocal samples to add to the break. The leads at the end were pretty cool, but the melody was slightly repetitive.

Things I would look at:

- The drums could have been better.
- The break @ 1:48 has wayy to much default D-Blue Glitch filtration going on
- The mastering could use some work (Master every single instrument one by one and you'll notice a hell of a difference)
- If you layered more samples together instead of cranking the volume on your leads up to full; your sounds would sound much fuller!

Good Effort

Soothing

Reminds me of a theme for a "Home Town" in a RPG style video game.
I really enjoyed the quality of the instruments used here (Really can't tell if they are fake or real). The song itself is written wonderfully, and I was really impressed by the subtle dynamic changes. The mastering here is amazing, and I can't think of anything I would change about it.

I would really love to hear this build into more of an orchestral piece; If strings and piano were to join in towards the end, I could see this building into a brilliant EPIC soundtrack for a film or as I mentioned earlier "An RPG style video game".

Overall; brilliant work

Cool! :D

For starters, the intro was definitely sweet like candy.
The strings and other soft instruments that you brought in during the build up sounded really great, and the nice driving kick/ side-chaining effect made everything sound very clean. I also liked the way you built the breaks in this a lot!

The overall sound of your breaks were okay and I could tell what you were going for, but the drums didn't sound terrific with everything else. I also thought that the arp @ 1:22 was kinda bland sounding, and didn't love the high pitched lead that joined slightly after. Another big problem I notice is that your leads just kind of file in "one by one". Lastly the sweep that starts @ 2:37 gets a little clippy towards the end of the break (But I liked the idea)

- Try automating your instruments a little more
- Spend more time on your drums (people will notice) :)

Overall; Great Work!

Black & White

This piece is pretty incredible bro; very emotional, very powerful, and very deep.

I too can remember a personal phase when things looked very grim, and it seemed like every element of my life was turning to shit right in front of me.
Sleepless nights, long walks to nowhere, staring at the ceiling, "self-medicating" , and writing long ambient soundscapes like this one here to try to describe my feelings. Unfortunately everything I produced back then felt forced, and most of it sounded pretty angry.

I Digress...
this song sounds PERFECT for a film project, maybe in black and white?
An exact setting is hard to nail with just the audio though; the beginning makes me think of someone wandering through an abandoned city, and surveying the remains of a once booming town full of people. Yet as the synths pick up speed and start to generate a melody, the mood switches up with pulses of an almost futuristic-electronic feel.

Aside from my personal feelings on this song...
I really enjoyed your choice of soft instrumentation, and the mastering on all of your samples sounds very well mixed! The dynamics in the piece were brilliant, and I can't thing of a thing I would change.

Fantastic work!

Thanks for using those adjectives! I don't know how I ever actually got the time
together to produce such a long track. Most people can barely create a song over 4 minutes long. It is hard for me to create music due to writers block, but I guess what's when passion kicks in. Thank you very much for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Pretty Interesting :D

But not bad at all!

I love the way you used very flowy, distant, and almost airy samples for this track.
I also found the dynamics of this peace to be very well done (Fade ins and outs flow pretty nicely throughout the song). This is really different (in a very good way). :D

Some things that I personally think could use more attention:

- The mastering of this could use some work in a couple spots
- The drums in this piece could have been a little bit "fuller-sounding"
- Some of your instruments have WAY to much delay; This causes the song to sound slightly busy
- The bell leads @ 2:45 are too loud, and they sound pretty pitchy

Overall; it sounds like this track has a lot of potential dude!

Great work!

Very nice work bro!

I really like what you've thrown together here.
The melodies are very entrancing, and the break at 0:52 Is sounds pretty stellar!
I Really dig the subtle undertones, and general ambiance.
I Also really give you props on how well you've automated all of your fade-ins and outs/ other effects.

Couple things definately need some attention here though:

- The bass sample is way to "small" sounding up until the break at 2:35 (Try layering a few bass samples together, and blend them nicely for a nice full bass)
- The bass also seemed to linger in a few spots where it shouldn't have; the break at 1:24 could have been a lot more epic if the bass had followed the same dynamic movement of everything else.
- Mastering makes e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g better with trance music; I definitely would like to hear a full mastered version of this...
- Watch your lows bro; eq some stuff out majorly, and make sure you're side-chaining everything you need to ;)
- things got kinda repetitive at the end. :p

Great work though dude! This is definitely coming along nicely. :D

Thanks for the review :)
I did finish this song a little while ago though. Its on my latest audio submissions tab. Its mastered ti the fullest, and EQ'ed as best as my current self can do. The entire song is made out of basic plugins, such as 3xosc and Directwave. I would love to make a unique bass, but as things are right now I cant do that. As for saying the bass is a sample its actually completely original. The entire song itself is about 12 minutes, so things will tend to get repetitive. Thanks for the review!
