We also need Progressive Trance/ House Categories!

I completely agree with you bud; newgrounds needs a lot of new categories for the audio portal :p

But I Digress
This is really good!

I really enjoyed the driving drums and bass-line. The leads and echo effects all sound very entrancing; you've done well capturing the general Phy-trance feel.
One biggggg plus for me with this track was the mastering, your lows and highs sound very nicely balanced.

Couple friendly suggestions though.
for trance music maybe you should focus more on adding background noise to fill the emptiness; some subtle voices or layered soft-sounding pads with a side-chain effect added over them could do this track some good.

This is so close to sounding perfectly professional its ridiculous!
Just a few more things buddy!
Imo anyway... lol

Great Work!

This is Dope!

Okay for starters, I can definitely get down to this Derpstep shit!
The melodies in this were very video-gamish; which was hella cool!
The leads in this were insanely awesome, and I really loved the huge drum sounds as well (double bass ftw). :D
The Bit-crushing effects were very well placed, and i don't know if I would have done anything different.

This song is crazy-insane, and all over the place.
In some respects, almost reminded me of a song from sonic advance (Lava Base Zone x)

Incredible work Kirbyfemur!
I really look forward to hearing more from you in the future!

Okay! Could use some improvment though :p

The general melodies behind this track are pretty cool, and pretty much right.
There's a good driving bass-line behind this track which is necessary for a good dance song!
You're on the right track, but some things here most definitely need work...

The mastering behind your track is a huge thing, but even more important than that is your drums.
The drum beats in this track seemed pretty lazy, and the intro sounded like a preset sample from some random fl generator.

I suggest trying to stay away from presets... far away...
and maybe look into some mastering/ drum tutorials on youtube!
Tutorials always help, and there's always room for improvement right?

Maybe you can also look into some new drum kits; Take the time to work on your drum beats... people will notice the difference.

Good effort bro!
Keep working at it!

WizMystery responds:

The drums were pretty much... Oh how do you say... Shit compared to what I write acoustically. I'll add toms and cymbals in sparingly to liven it up I guess.

I'm surprised the intro sounds like a preset. I actually used dub siren with a love philter gate - for which no presets were used.

Thanks for the review!

Damn this is coming along nicely! :D

I love the bass/ lead synths here, the drums kick major ass, and the side-chaining effects in the song really shine through! To bring quite a rhythmic masterpiece together! and dude the drop @ 4:11 holy FFUuuuuu!
all only to be complemented with some amazing effects to end this one. (Loved the pitch-bending at the end)

Couple downsides to this one as well though.
I couldn't give a 10 on this one cause some of the samples during the big drop at
1:36 didn't seem to have enough Low end to them... in fact they seemed to be all filtered except for the high end :(

Besides that dude...
This track is amazing!

I hope you do another version in the future!
Great Work!

Chill :)

Loved the subtle piano tones and background ambiance during the build-up, very cool :P The drum kits you chose here also complemented the build very well.
To top it all off, the mastering on this track is pretty clean as well!

Some things here however, I would most definitely change...
The bass samples used here sound a little muddy (or flattened out)
Try layering a few bass samples together and see what you get?
Also!
When mastering your Dubstep tracks; watch your low frequencies you want lots of bass which is good, but you need that bass to be crisp as well!

Great Work!

Marfles responds:

Thank you, Yeah i know this song could use a boost in those low freqs

This is great!

The instruments you chose here sound great, and really kept that old-school Mariokart feeling fresh!
You did a pretty great job on the mastering as well! The Bassline and Drums sounded pretty friggin awesome!
I loved the nostalgia this song brought back for me as well :)
Blast from the past.

On the negative side though, the LFO Speed (Wobble effect) on that higher end organ is pretty out of control; maybe consider adjusting that.
Also the plucks that start from the beginning of the song and end @ about 12 seconds see slightly out of place.

Besides that though
This track is actually great!
Keep up the awesome work!

Birdinator99 responds:

I'm really glad you like the mastering -- that was definitely my main focus here.

The organ wobble I understand. I use that instrument a lot when I'm just messing around, so I probably just got used to it.

Those plucks probably could've been brought down a notch at the least, but maybe a lead synth wasn't the best choice, haha.

I appreciate your thoughts; thanks very much!

Beautiful, Underrated, Fck Zero-Bombers...

Zero-Bombers simply fear genius.

This composition is simply incredible; Seriously sounds like its straight out of a movie soundtrack.
It's pretty rare that you actually get to hear a Classical composition that sounds this incredible and professional on Newgrounds.
I loved every sample, I mean EVERY sample in this piece; The dynamics all sound beautiful and naturally flow. Nothing sounds bad, Nothing sounds forced, and Nothing stands up to this composition.

Orchestra is a dieing art; Don't stop making music sir.
You are an incredible composer, and you don't need noobs on newgrounds to tell you that.

Incredibly Inspiring

descara responds:

Thank you very much for the somewhat smoldering review!

I'm on my second month of studying composition now so hopefully I won't stop making music any time soon. ;)

Would love to remix this :)

I loved the groove behind this song, very chill, very cool, and very relaxing.
What I see here is the back-bone of a sick-ass haywire style hip-hop track.
This song has got so much potential its crazy :p. you're definitely on to something amazing!

I really enjoyed the piano samples used, the vocals are awesome (just needed to be a bit clearer), The drum beat is super chill, loved the overall ambiance, and really dug the smooth note patterns as well!

This track is a monster :)

Thanks for your kind criticism!

I took a lot of time to find out what kind of feel I wanted for this song. I liked that you said it was very chill, very cool and very relaxing. I'm not sure what a "sick-ass haywire style hip-hop track" is, but you're welcome to remix it if you wish :)

Thanks for your complements on the piano, and the vocals. The vocals are basically just an experiment of me layering them on top of each other to form a certain atmosphere. I'll try to enunciate better next time. Also I need something better than a built-in mic :P

But thanks for your complements.

Wow!

As I was trying to visualize a scene for this track my eyes fell upon the description you left, and I realized you had already beat me to it ;)

This track is really cool, I could definitely see this making it into a super cool "Clue" style flash game or something like that in the flash portal! I really liked the old style orchestral samples and instrumentation you used also. The overall feel of this song was pretty much perfect for what you were going for it would seem :)

The mastering could have used some work though, and maybe you should consider "Widening your instrument placement and reverb to add a little more realistic feel to everything? :)

I Hope to hear more tracks like this from you in the future!

CheckeredZebra responds:

Not sure what you meant by "Widening your instrument placement." I'm sorry D: I do understand the reverb though. Perhaps I could add a bit of an "open room" sound to it, like you're in a large ballroom. Genius.

Perhaps I should work on dynamics, just like my other song. I bet if it started off quieter, then it would have a bigger impact later on. It'd definitely convey the sense of grandeur I'm going for.

Anyhow, thank you for the help!
